By: E&P Staff Jerry Robinson has been in London on the set of "The Dark Knight," the Batman movie scheduled to open next July.
His son, Jens Robinson, told E&P that Jerry will have the on-screen credit of creative consultant.
That's also Jerry's new position with DC Comics, according to Heidi MacDonald's comics blog. DC Comics publishes Batman comic books, among other titles.
Jerry Robinson, 85, worked on Batman comic books more than 60 years ago, and was responsible for creating the Joker and inspiring the name of Robin.
He went on to a career as a syndicated cartoonist, comics historian, cartoon-exhibit curator, teacher, president of both the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists and the National Cartoonists Society, and founder of the Cartoonists & Writers Syndicate -- where Jens is an executive.
