'Rockford (Ill.) Register Star' Appoints M.E.

By: E&P Staff Jeff Gauger has been named managing editor of the Rockford (Ill.) Register Star. He most recently was assistant managing editor/news at the Omaha (Neb.) World-Herald.

Gauger replaces Gale Baldwin, who was named assistant managing editor/night operations of The News-Press in Fort Myers, Fla., in January.

Since 1995, he has been part owner and publisher of weekly newspapers in Washington state.
