Sams to Head MAN Newspaper Sales

By: E&P Staff Ron Sams becomes newspaper sales vice president at MAN Roland Inc., Westmont, Ill., on January 1, taking over the role from Vincent Lapinski, who becomes the company's CEO in 2007.

Announcing the promotion, Lapinski cited Sams' "performance, professionalism and expertise."

Since 1994, Sams has served as the company's newspaper sales manager for the central region, helping many Midwest major dailies upgrade from letterpresses. He initiated MAN Roland's largest North American newspaper press project at Detroit Newspaper Partnerships, brought the first Berliner-format Geoman to North America, and helped forge a partnership with Tribune Publishing.

In the graphic arts industry for more than 23 years, Sams held sales and sales management positions in the mailroom/packaging equipment division of Harris/AM Graphics for 11 years before joining MAN Roland. He rose to AM Graphics eastern regional sales manager.
