By: E&P Staff The San Diego Union-Tribune and VMIX Media have entered a partnership in which VMIX will provide technology to upload video and manage media on the paper?s Web site, SignOnSanDiego.com.
The new tools will allow readers to submit their own content, including video, photos, and comments regarding news, sports, and local community events.
?We?re always looking for ways to further engage our users by taking a cutting edge approach to reporting and news gathering,? Chris Jennewein, vice president, Internet operations at the Union-Tribune, said in a statement. ?Whether it be coverage of a high school football game or fund-raiser for a local school district, our readers not only care about and want to know about these community-level events, they also want to participate in creating the content.?
