'San Francisco Chronicle' Getting Reader Opinions About Eight Comics

By: E&P Staff The San Francisco Chronicle this week is publishing a test run of eight comics it's considering for its comics section.

Readers are being asked to offer their opinions about "Castronomy," "Cul de Sac," "It's All About You," "Red and Rover," "Secret Asian Man," "The Argyle Sweater," "The Knight Life," and "Watch Your Head." Most of the eight comics are relatively new to syndication.

The Chronicle also reported that the majority of readers who wrote in had positive things to say about "Candorville," which began running in the newspaper when "Doonesbury" went on sabbatical. Executive Datebook Editor David Wiegand said "we're hoping to find a permanent home" for the comic in the Chronicle soon.
