San Francisco Chronicle has chosen five editors for top positions at the daily.
Narda Zacchino, 54, was named senior editor after more than 30 years as a reporter and editor at the
Los Angeles Times.
Andrew Ross, 55, the co-founder of Salon.com and its first managing editor, was named associate editor of content. From 1985 to 1995, Ross worked at the former
San Francisco Examiner as assistant metro editor, foreign editor and associate editor. Before that he worked at Bay Area television stations as news director at KQED-TV and assignment editor at KPIX-TV.
Kenn Altine, 39, will become editor of the Sunday
Chronicle. He has been a consultant for the paper for the past six months, and was interim business editor. Altine earlier was Sunday editor of the now defunct
San Antonio Light, and assistant managing editor of the
Reno (Nev.)
Gazette-Journal.
Mi-Ai Parrish, 30, was named associate editor of the Sunday
Chronicle. Parrish was the
Arizona Republic's Sunday editor before becoming deputy managing editor for features. Parrish also worked as a reporter and editor at
The Virginian-Pilot in Richmond and held a variety of editing positions at the
Chicago Sun-Times.
Kenneth Howe, 50, was named business editor. He has worked at the paper for 14 years in many capacities, including as a business and consumer affairs reporter.
