The Examiner and other publications owned by his family, has died. He was 38.
The cause of death was not released. Fang died Wednesday.
Fang helped guide
The Examiner from a broadsheet to tabloid in 2001 after his family took control of the paper from the Hearst Corp.
"His energy and enthusiasm not only dramatically changed our publications for the better, but he has left a lasting imprint on every aspect of this organization and those he worked with," his brother James Fang said in Friday's edition of the newspaper.
Fang earned a degree in computer science from the University of Southern California. He worked at several high-tech companies, including Bridgespan, where he was senior vice president in charge of technology.
The Fang family also publishes
AsianWeek and several free papers in the Bay Area.
Fang is survived by his wife, Angela, and their two children, Sean Michael and Allison. Services were set for Wednesday in Daly City.
