By: E&P Staff The San Jose Mercury News is exploring the sale of its headquarters on Ridder Park Drive.
Mac Tully, publisher of the Mercury News, said executives are considering other locations for its business and editorial operations and are looking for a broker, according to an account in the Mercury News. The printing presses and other production equipment would stay at the current site.
The company could sell part of the building or the entire structure, and lease back the space for printing and production.
"We would be interested in staying in San Jose and we would keep all of our options open," Tully told the paper.
The Mercury News, which constructed the building, has been there since 1966.
