NEW YORK, October 20, 2010 -- Scarborough Research, the leading source for local market media and
consumer insights, announced changes to its executive leadership today. Scarborough has been a
successful joint venture between Arbitron Inc. and The Nielsen Company since 1995.
Robert Cohen, Scarborough's president and chief executive officer, has been on a medical leave of
absence since November of 2009 and will not return to Scarborough in a full-time capacity. During Mr.
Cohen's leave of absence, Gregg Lindner, executive vice president, has managed Scarborough's day-today
business and operations.
Today, it was announced that Mr. Lindner has been appointed to the newly established-position of chief
research officer and executive vice president, service innovation at Arbitron. In this role, he will become
a member of the Arbitron senior executive team.
Scarborough has commenced a search for a new president and chief executive officer. Mr. Lindner will
continue to manage the Scarborough business and operations through December 31, 2010 or until such
time as a new president and CEO is appointed. He will then officially transition to Arbitron and serve as
an Arbitron representative on the Scarborough partners committee.
"Scarborough has been fortunate to have been lead by both Mr. Cohen and Mr. Lindner over the past
15+ years," said Debbie Morisie, senior vice president, human resources. "Under their combined vision
and leadership, Scarborough has expanded its local Top-Tier and Mid-Tier Market services and has
successfully introduced numerous new products such as its Multi-Market, Scarborough USA+ and
custom insight services to meet the needs of our customers. The company will continue to benefit from
Mr. Lindner's ongoing involvement in the business as a representative on the board."
