By: E&P Staff Jon Schleuss has been named online editor of nwanews.com, a Web site featuring content from three dailies and nine weekly newspapers in Northwest Arkansas.
"Jon's primary focus will be bridging the gap between print and online by working closely with all of our newsrooms to expand on stories in ways that can only be represented on the Web," said Mat Costa, the online director of nwanews.com, told the Benton County Daily Record. Costa went on to say that nwanews.com would include more interactive features, such as photos, interactive maps, and video.
Nwanews.com features content from the Daily Record, of Bentonville, the Northwest Arkansas Times in Fayetteville, and the Northwest Edition of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, based in Little Rock.
Schleuss is currently a journalism student at the University of Arkansas with a minor in art/visual design. He has previously served as Web developer for the school's newspaper, The Arkansas Traveler, and the Razorback Yearbook. He has also been a contributor for The Fayetteville Flyer, a local Web site.
