Editor & Publisher have presented Morris Schneider the 2003 Lifetime Achievement Award in the field of newspaper circulation. Presented earlier this week at the NAA Marketing Conference in Orlando, Fla., the award is presented every two years to a recipient nominated by NAA's Circulation Federation board.
Schneider is the former vice president and circulation director of
The Times-Picayune of New Orleans and began his career in the industry as a newspaper carrier at age 12. He spent 32 years at the paper before retiring in 2001. The
Times-Picayune had the top ranking in weekday readership market penetration when Schneider retired, according to Scarborough Research.
