Scholarship Named For Late Columnist

By: A midcareer scholarship focusing on business journalism ethics is being established in the name of Gary Klott, the tax columnist who died Aug. 10 at his San Luis Obispo, Calif., home.

Klott, 52, was syndicated by Tribune Media Services. The former New York Times tax columnist also founded TaxPlanet.com in 2000 and authored several books.

Contributions can be mailed to the Gary L. Klott Scholarship Fund, Missouri School of Journalism, 134 Neff Annex, Columbia, MO 65211-1200. Checks should be made payable to SABEW, with Gary L. Klott Scholarship Fund written on the memo line.
