Schulte to Join Baltimore 'Sun'

By: E&P Staff Fred Schulte, a three-time Pulitzer Prize finalist as an investigative reporter at the South Florida Sun-Sentinel in Fort Lauderdale, is heading to The Sun of Baltimore.

According to a memo from Sun editors posted on the Romenesko site at Poynter.org, Schulte will join the Sun's investigative team next month.

The memo said Schulte "is one of the nation's premier investigative reporters and an expert in computer assisted reporting. He will be a perfect fit at The Sun, because much of his investigative work has focused on the nation's health care industry -- a topic that is one of our franchise coverage areas. "

He was a reporter and editor at the Sun-Sentinel for 26 years, and the paper's investigative editor until his departure last month. He will join the Sun on Sept. 27.
