Schur Acquires Idab Wamac from Heidelberg

By: E&P Staff Last week, Denmark's Schur International a/s acquired from Germany's Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG all shares in Heidelberg?s Swedish subsidiary Idab Wamac International AB.

Pleased to have closed the transaction "even under the currently challenging market conditions," CEO of Heidelberger CEO Bernhard Schreier said in a statement that the sale of the business was a consequence of Heidelberg's focus on sheetfed printing.

"We are proud to have this opportunity to strengthen our mailroom segment by combining the two companies' strengths and to create a business that will be well known all over the world as a supplier of efficient, high-tech mailroom system support by our palletizing solutions" Schur owner and CEO Hans Schur said in announcing the acquisition.

U.C. Edberg takes on a new position at Heidelberg, and Ulrik Sthaalros was appointed managing director.
