By: E&P Staff Screen, Rolling Meadows, Ill., announced the addition of the PlateRite News 2000+ to its line of newspaper platesetters. Producing 106 broadsheet plates or 49 panorama plates per hour, the PlateRite News 2000+ is Screen's fastest thermal computer-to-plate imager.
The new model offers a choice of resolutions at 1,000, 1,016, 1,200 and 1,270 dots per inch and supports Screen's Spektra AM/FM screening for high quality from ordinary screen rulings.
The News 2000+ uses a 64-channel laser-diode imaging head to image plates from 18.1 x 11.4 inches to a maximum plate size of 39.2 x 27.4 inches. Automated plate loading and unloading for unattended operation is standard, as is dual plate loading (two broadsheet plates simultaneously).
Available immediately, the new platesetter is supported by the Trueflow Rite News automated workflow system for newspaper production.
