By: E&P Staff E.W. Scripps reported today that July revenue for its newspapers managed solely by the company was flat at $56.6 million compared to the same period a year ago. Advertising revenue was up 1% to $45.5 million.
Local advertising revenue declined 1.6% to $11.3 million. Classified revenue was up 1.2% to $19.4 million. National ad revenue fell 18% to $2.8 million. Preprint, online, and other grew 9.1% to $12.1 million.
Circulation revenue dropped 4.1% to $10.1 million.
Total revenue at Scripps Networks, which includes HGTV and Food Network, increased 24% to $81.9 million. Advertising revenue grew 21% to $61.9 million.
Total revenue at the company?s broadcast division rose 6.9% to $22.9 million.
