By: E&P Staff Sound Publishing, Poulsbo, Wash., has installed SCS/ClassPag from Software Consulting Services, Nazareth, Pa., to handle classified pagination at more than 66 of its publications serving western Washington and northwest Oregon.
Sound Publishing runs SCS/ClassPag on a centralized server set used at three different offices where the publications are paginated. Sound was introduced to the system when it acquired Little Nickel Shopper publications, Lynnwood, Wash., in 2006. Little Nickel has used CSC/ClassPag since 1996.
Hoy Nueva York has begun using the SCS Layout-8000 ad-dummying system. The Spanish-language weekday paper is the fourth belonging to publisher impreMedia to migrate to the SCS system.
ImpreMedia's Layout-8000 installation runs on two redundant Linux servers at the group's La Opinion office in Los Angeles. Hoy's editions are dummied remotely on Mac OS X workstations in New York. The system also is used by impreMedia's El Diario La Prensa in New York and El Mensajero in San Francisco.
