Search Site Using Newspapers' Digital Editions Goes Live

Posted
By: E&P Staff A new search Web site dedicated solely to newspapers in North America and the United Kingdom has launched.

Mydigitalnewspaper allows users to search for everything from local community news to international stories in the e-editions of newspapers. The search can be segmented by country, publication, date, title and the archives include content from dailies, weeklies, monthlies, paid and free newspapers.

Some of the North American papers involved with the site include the Examiner chain of newspapers, Shaw Newspapers and American City Business Journals.

The price of accessing a digital edition of the newspaper depends upon the search results: When a search was conducted with only North American newspapers, many of the results were free. However, some papers in the United Kingdom required payment to view the e-edition in its entirety.

PageSuite Limited, a publishing software development company in the U.K., is behind Mydigitalnewspaper. Its clients include Clarity Media Group, Associated Newspapers, Metro and Trinity Mirror.
