By: After more than 30 years, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer says it will no longer sponsor the Jefferson Awards in Washington.
The paper is bowing out because the Hearst Corp. has decided to stop printing the P-I in March, unless a buyer is found.
The national awards recognize citizens for community service and are presented by the Jefferson Award for Public Service program in Wilmington, Del.
The P-I associate publisher, Ken Bunting, says CityClub is looking for a new sponsor for the Jefferson Awards.
