By: E&P Staff The two daily newspapers in Seattle will hike their newsstand price to 50 cents at the end of the month, up from the 25 cents they have charged for the past four years.
Roger Oglesby, Seattle Post-Intelligencer publisher, said that under the terms of the papers' joint-operating agreement, the decision to raise the newsstand price is made by The Seattle Times, but he also said that agreed with the decision. He cited costs in producing and distributing the paper.
No plans are set for increasing the price of Sunday papers or home delivery.
