'Seattle Times' Loses 125 Employees to Cuts

By: E&P Staff The Seattle Times Co. has cut the staff at its flagship newspaper by 125 employees.

Of the total, 73 staffers were laid off while 52 left voluntarily, 51 of whom accepted buyout offers, the Seattle Times reports today.

One month ago, the Times announced that to help save $15 million, it would freeze 60 unfilled positions and lay off up to 131 employees.
