By: E&P Staff As part of a response to the changes in its busines, The Seattle Times plans to implement the Methode solution from EidosMedia, Milan and New York, as an integrated platform for print and online publishing.
"We are aiming to build the news organization of the future, a multi-platform company based on a unique foundation of journalistic excellence, business excellence and community service," Times Executive Editor David Boardman said in a statement. "We had a clear vision of where we wanted to go from a technology standpoint, but until we started talking to EidosMedia we had no idea the solution we were seeking actually existed."
"Synergies and productivity gains made possible by driving print and online community operations from a single editorial platform will be a powerful aid in allowing the paper to achieve its future business objectives," EidosMedia CEO Gabriella Franzini said in announcing the project ? believed to be the company's first in this country.
Media-neutral Methode will replace a CCI-Europe editorial system and serve about 250 users. Implementation is planned to begin late this year, with completion expected in early 2009.
