Seidel Out at GMA

Posted
By: Jim Rosenberg Randy R. Seidel, president and CEO at the newspaper post-press systems manufacturer GMA, is leaving the company he has led since 1995, three years after its acquisition by Switzerland's Muller Martini Group in the mid-1990s.

Word on the decision by the Muller Martini board of directors arrived earlier today, according to a GMA spokesman, who called Seidel's departure "an amicable split."

Gary Hughes, an executive from Muller Martini Canada, will direct the Allentown, Pa.-based operations on an interim basis during the search for a new chief executive.

"Nothing on this end is changing in terms of operations and employees," the GMA spokesman said.

A 23-year GMA veteran, Seidel served in various management posts, from engineering and R&D to general management and sales, under GMA's former ownership by the Connors family. An engineer, he holds several patents, including those for GMA's SLS-1000 inserter.
