'S.F. Chron' Unveils New TV Book, Reduces Stock Listings

By: E&P Staff The New Year is bringing new changes to the pages of the San Francisco Chronicle. The paper revealed today in a note to readers that the TV book and business section will undergo modifications.

TV Week will be printed in a larger format and inserted in the Sunday "Pink" section. The book will continue to provide listings but will eliminate added elements like the celebrity Q&A.

"Although intended to curtail costs, the new format will bring several benefits," according to the note to readers. The Chronicle will handle the printing of the TV book instead of outsourcing it to a third party thus allowing for more program changes to make the listings.

Additionally the paper said that starting Monday it will reduce the amount of space devoted to stock listings. Tuesday through Saturday the paper will feature a Market Report that summarizes activity across several indexes. On Sunday the paper will publish a chart detailing the performance of the market's top 200 mutual funds. On Monday the paper will feature a table indexing "The Chronicle 200."
