SFGate Chooses News Alert Vendor

By: E&P Staff News Technologies LLC of Portland, Ore., announced today that the San Francisco Chronicle has selected TriggerNews PL for news alerts from SFGate.com.

TriggerNews allows users to receive personalized desktop news alerts through pop-ups, mini-sliders, e-mail digests, and/or news tickers. Alerts are based on categories of interest or personal "trigger" words selected by users. The service will carry the SFGate brand and is expected to launch by the end of March, according to News Technologies.

"We've searched a long time to find a desktop news alerting technology to meet the rigorous demands of our readers and advertisers," said Chronicle Digital Media Vice President Robert S. Cauthorn in a statement. "We're expecting exceptional results and revenues from the use of this application."
