Share a Story, and Alt-Paper Group AAN Will Kick in $500

By: E&P Staff The Association of Alternative Newsweeklies (AAN) is offering a $500 bonus for stories from member alternatives that other AAN papers can use in their markets.

In the coming months, AAN said Wednesday, it will award four of the $500 payments for stories.

AAN's editorial committee has overseen and coordinated multi-market editorial projects in the past, but this year it is asking editors planning articles that he or she believes will be useful to other papers to pitch the ideas to its editorial committee chair Julia Goldberg.

"She will then shepherd the story idea through the committee and make sure there is sufficient interest from other papers," AAN said in an announcement.

Approved stories will be made available free to AAN member papers.
