By: E&P Staff The Suburban Newspapers of America Foundation is extending a program to community newspapers to help with multimedia publishing.
The foundation is sponsoring the second in a series of "e-learning modules" that are underwritten by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.
The seminar, "Leading an Online Newsroom," covers practical tips and tools for managing local newsrooms. Participants will learn about Web-first publishing, newsroom workflow, training and hiring staff, and content partnerships.
The course, which is free, takes about three hours to complete but is self-paced. Once registered, the participant can access the course multiple times.
Leading an Online Newsroom is a
second course in a series. The
first one was "Build & Engage Local Audiences Online," which launched last year. The foundation said it has attracted more than 1,300 participants.
