11:55 a.m. -- WNYC TV in New York released what it called a full list of names in the report (see separate story on this site), then said Major League Baseball disputed some of the names. Some big names on the disputed list: Albert Pujols, Johnny Damon, Miguel Tejada, Barry Bonds. Stay tuned.

10:30 a.m. -- From the New York Daily News:

"Among the names expected to appear in the Mitchell Report today are two of the most revered pitchers in Yankee history - Roger Clemens and Andy Pettitte.
According to a source familiar with information provided to Mitchell, Brian McNamee, the longtime personal trainer for the players, gave the former Senate majority leader conducting a steroids investigation for Major League Baseball information linking Clemens to the use of steroids and human growth hormone and Pettitte to human growth hormone.

"According to the source, who asked not to be identified because of the sensitivity of the information, both players were provided the substances to help them recover from injury.

"Earl Ward, McNamee?s attorney, could not be reached for comment today. Randy Hendricks, the agent for both Clemens and Pettitte, did not return repeated phone calls and attempts to reach him by E-mail."

9:30 a.m.:

ESPN is reporting this morning that a former New York Yankee strength trainer says information he supplied to the George Mitchell investigation regarding supplying Roger Clemens with steroids is included in the Mitchell report scheduled to be released later today.

Brian McNamee, who worked for the Yankees and as a personal trainer for Clemens, one of the greatest pitchers of all time who has had a mysteriously long career, and Yankee teammate Andy Pettitte, "also told investigators that on at least one occasion, Clemens was in possession of steroids from another supplier, the source said," according to ESPN.

It continues: "The source said McNamee told investigators he supplied Clemens with steroids while Clemens was witih the Yankees, and prior to Clemens joining the team.

Also, The Bergen (N.J.) Record, citing a baseball industry official, says "several" prominent Yankees will be named. The paper said the source spoke to a third party who had seen the final report. "It's going to be a rough day in the Bronx," a source said.

Yesterday, AP and other news outlets reported that the report will name 50 to 80 players or former players, including MVP and Cy Young winners. Clemens is a multiple Cy Young winner.
