The
Boston Globe is about to lose one of its biggest online cash cows.
According to sources, the media giant’s near decade-old partnership with Internet auto marketplace Cars.com will officially end in about a month, severing a $10 million annual revenue stream in the process. The Cars.com account represents roughly 25 percent of the digital revenue for the New England Media Group, which includes the
Globe as well as various other properties such as Boston.com and the
Worcester Telegram & Gazette.
