South Plains Media Buys Texas Weeklies

By: E&P Staff South Plains Media acquired the Texas weeklies The Morton Tribune and The Fritch Eagle Press from Jeff Jordon.

Terms of the deal, brokered by W.B. Grimes & Co., were not disclosed.

Sherrill Sahlin, president of South Plains Media, at one time managed the Morton Tribune. "I'm thrilled to have an opportunity to acquire these award winning community newspapers and have great plans for their future," Sahlin, who was born in West Texas, said in a statement.
