By: Staff Reports CNHI Plans To Sell Smaller Papers

The Del Rio (Texas) News-Herald, a 5,116 paid-
circulation daily, has been acquired by Houston-based Southern
Newspapers Inc. from Community Newspaper Holdings Inc.

The sale includes the weekly Border City Shopper and the
military weekly, Border Eagle. Terms of the deal were not
disclosed.

The sale is part of CNHI's plan to divest itself of smaller
properties. CNHI announced earlier this year that it would sell
smaller newspapers that did not fit its long-term strategic plan.
