Spain's 'El Pais' Chooses Agfa CTP

By: E&P Staff Agfa Graphics, Mortsel, Belgium, contracted to supply Spain's leading newspaper, Madrid-based El Pais with three violet-laser, high-speed Polaris platesetters for N91v digital plates, Arkitex NewsDrive and ink presetting software, plate-processing and punch and bending equipment.

The deal, including a two-year service contract, was valued at more than $1.5 million.

El Pais cited quality and reliability as reasons for selecting Agfa.
The 30-year-old daily, a member of the Grupo Prisa multiple-media consortium, has eight national editions in Spain, publishes elsewhere in Europe and in Latin America, and publishes supplements with the International Herald Tribune and The New York Times.
