By: E&P Staff ImpreMedia, the big Spanish-language newspaper and online publisher, said Thursday it will launch an auto-shopping Web site targeting Hispanics.
The site, to be called impreAuto, is being created in partnership with Zag Inc. and Vast.com.
The site will be accessible from all its newspapers and other publications, connecting car shoppers in the markets ImpreMedia serves with dealers that have assigned Spanish-speaking sales representatives, ImpreMedia said.
"Our goal is to provide a unique car-buying experience for the Hispanic consumer," Arturo Duran, CEO of ImpreMedia Digital, said in a statement. "The Zag platform helps facilitate the car buying process for the consumer, providing educational tools and eliminating the fear when buying a car. Our newspapers are trusted by the Hispanic communities they serve, and by partnering with Zag we can make buying a car fun and safe for our readers."
ImpreMedia said its site will connect users with "certified dealers who offer upfront prices, guaranteed in writing -- and guaranteed not to exceed the market average."
Zag creates platforms on a private-label basis to affinity buying groups, such as Capital One, for which it launched capitaloneautobuying.com. Vast.com specializes in used car selling, and has an inventory of more than 3.5 million cars.
ImpreMedia has 12 online and 14 print properties including the daily newspapers La Opinion in Los Angeles and El Diario La Prensa in New York City, that reach 17 top U.S. Hispanic markets.
