By: E&P Staff A Broadway musical version of "The Amazing Spider-Man" is slated to open in late 2009 or in 2010, reports Broadwayworld.com.
The site said Julie Taymor ("The Lion King," "Frida," etc.) is directing and U2's Bono and The Edge are doing the music.
"Spider-Man" is also known as a comic book, comic strip, and movie property. Stan Lee, who created the web-slinging character in 1962, writes the 1977-launched newspaper strip for King Features Syndicate.
