By: Lucia Moses SRDS (Standard Rate and Data Service) members can now access newspaper circulation and readership data directly from SRDS' online newspaper rate listings, a change aimed at facilitating media planning.

Responding to strong demand from members, SRDS has been working with the Audit Bureau of Circulations over the past three years to link their data. Members using the Newspaper Advertising Source can now jump to current ABC Audit Reports and Publisher's Statements for about 1,200 U.S. dailies and weeklies and Reader Profiles for 131 papers.

Users of SRDS' consumer and business publications information had already been able to link to ABC circulation data since 2000.

"This really is one of the top two or three features people had requested," said Lindsay Morrison, a spokeswoman for SRDS, which, like Editor & Publisher, is owned by VNU. "This is information that planners and buyers are using. Now they can find it instantaneously."
