By: The St. Louis Post-Dispatch says it is cutting 14 full-time and four part-time jobs.

The newspaper, the largest of the 50 dailies owned by Davenport, Iowa-based Lee Enterprises, announced the cuts on Friday.

Twelve of the layoffs are in advertising, two in operations and four in the newsroom. The newsroom cuts involve news researchers and a photo assistant.

Publisher Kevin Mowbray says he is hopeful the worst of the recession has passed.
