By: E&P Staff Having sold off Congressional Quarterly in recent days, St. Petersburg, Fla.-based Times Publishing Co. said it is putting up for sale the sibling magazine Governing.
Times Publishing, The St. Petersburg Times' parent, said it "has been divesting its Washington properties to support its growth initiatives in Florida."
Last week, Times Publishing reached announced an agreement to sell Congressional Quarterly to the Roll Call Group, a subsidiary of The Economist Group. And last year, Times Publishing sold the CQ Press books division to Sage Publications.
Governing is a magazine and Web site that provides news and information on politics and policy to an audience primarily consisting of state and city government officials. The monthly print magazine has an audited circulation of more than 80,000 subscribers.
Times Publishing said it had engaged the investment bank Jordan Edmiston Group Inc. to act as financial adviser in the transaction.
