By: E&P Staff Ed Lee, former managing editor of the St. Peter (Minn.) Herald, has been appointed publisher and editor of the Herald and Minnesota Valley Shopper.
?I am both humbled and energized by the opportunity to serve as publisher of the St. Peter Herald, which has a long history of strong leaders dating all the way back to John A. Johnson in 1886. I look forward to my new role at this great newspaper and progressive and positive community,? Lee told the Herald.
Lee started his newspaper career after graduating from Minnesota State University-Mankato with a bachelor?s degree in mass communications and geography. After serving as staff writer for The Journal of New Ulm and the Winona Post, both in Minnesota, he joined the Herald in 1995 as sports editor. A year later, Lee was promoted to managing editor.
Kathleen Davies has been promoted to advertising manager. She was promoted to advertising coordinator earlier this year after serving as an advertising sales consultant since 2002.
In her new capacity, she will oversee advertising and customer service at the Herald and assist local advertisers with their advertising and marketing plans.
