'St. Petersburg Times' Announces Executive Appointments

By: E&P Staff Jana Jones has been appointed a vice president at the St. Petersburg (Fla.) Times, in addition to her existing title as chief financial officer.

Jones joined the newspaper as CFO in 2004. Before that, she served as CFO at The Bakersfield Californian, a position she assumed in 2001. She joined that newspaper in 1996 as controller.

Joe DeLuca, the Times' vice president and Tampa publisher since 2005, will now add operations to his slate of responsibilities. DeLuca is no stranger to that area, having served the newspaper as director of operations from 2001-2005.

Times veteran Jane Peppard has been named vice president of corporate communications. Peppard has been with the newspaper for 30 years, having joined the market research department in 1977. She later became research manager, and was retail advertising manager before being appointed Tampa publisher, a position in which she served for 10 years.

In 2000 she was named director of organizational development and human resources, and three years ago she was named vice president of organizational development.
