By: E&P Staff Five Quipp Packman packaging systems are among the equipment recently ordered by five dailies from Miami-based Quipp Systems Inc.

The Tampa (Fla.) Tribune bought two Quipp Packman units, as well as seven Quipp Model 501W stackers, and six Quipp Viper wrappers with high-resolution inkjet printers. The Asbury Park Press ordered three Packman units for its Freehold, N.J., plant.

Also, seven Viper wrappers with inkjet printers will go into The Providence (R.I.) Journal, and nine 501W stackers were ordered by The Grand Rapids (Mich.) Press.

In New Iberia, La., The Daily Iberian, will install a Quipp off-press counter stacker, which incorporates heavy-duty side frames, casters with lock-downs, adjustable joggers, and integral belt tensioners. Its new matte top infeed allows tool-less jogger adjustment.
