By: E&P Staff The Star Tribune in Minneapolis and the Seattle Post-Intelligencer are using branded TV Guide content for their newspapers and Web sites.
The Star Tribune is using TV Guide's listings grid and talk show highlights content for its print and online products. The Star Tribune is also marketing TV Guide to readers who want a stand alone magazine. The paper discontinued its TV listings book.
The Seattle Post-Intelligencer is using TV Guide's branded editorial content including breaking news, Hot List, TV show recaps and other stories on the front page and entertainment section of its website, seattlepi.com.
"We are pleased to provide our guidance tools and editorial content to this group of leading media companies," Rich Cusick, senior vice president and general manager, digital media of Gemstar-TV Guide, said in a statement. "These syndication agreements give us the opportunity to broaden the reach of our TV Guide brand across multiple platforms, while allowing our partners to offer relevant content and information to their customers."
