By: E&P Staff The Star Tribune (Minneapolis) has officially appointed Larry Werner Director of Community Publications today. Werner had been pursuing work as the interim director for the past half year.
Werner?s latest position will employ his lengthy experience at the paper, which dates back to 1980s. The new Director will balance the editorial and business responsibilities of the publication?s community weeklies (geographically titled as North, South and West) in order to achieve the maximum growth for these fledgling enterprises.
Werner has long been a member of the news industry, having worked as a reporter at the Detroit Free Press, Buffalo Courier-Express and the Dallas Times-Herald, among other publications. In 1983 he became Business Editor at The Star Tribune, and he has served as Reader Involvement Editor and written columns on issues such as suburban development and small-business.
