Stars and Stripes, the military daily newspaper, reported Friday that an internal investigation found that a considerable number of its employees based in the Pacific accessed gambling and pornography sites using government computers. "At Stars and Stripes, we shine a light into all the dark places — including our own," Senior Managing Editor Howard Witt told E&P.

Pacific Stars and Stripes General Manager John Panasiewicz would not tell the newspaper how many of the approximately 200 Pacific workers are suspected of improper Internet use, but he said the number was considerable. “It was more than I would have anticipated,” Panasiewicz told reporter Erik Slavin.
