By: E&P Staff "Stone Soup" cartoonist Jan Eliot is joining five other celebrities in judging applications for the Talbot's Women Scholarship Fund, according to Universal Press Syndicate.
The fund, which started in 1997, gives $100,000 in scholarships each year to 55 women in their late 20s to early 60s who are obtaining their bachelor's or associate's degree.
Other judges this year include MSNBC columnist Jeanette Walls, singer Naomi Judd, actresses S. Epatha Merkerson and LaChanze, and former tennis star Tracy Austin.
Among last year's judges were "Cathy" cartoonist Cathy Guisewite and "Dear Abby" columnist Jeanne Phillips of Universal.
