Study: Newspapers, TV Far More Trusted Than Web Sites, Blogs

By: E&P Staff Traditional media brands like newspapers and television are far more trusted by the public than Web sites and blogs, according to a survey this week by British interactive marketing company Telecom Express.

1000 respondents were asked what percentage of the information they received from various sources was accurate, true and unbiased, according to Telecom Express.

The most trusted source of information in the survey was television, which scored 66 percent among respondents.

Information on television was seen as the most trusted, scoring a 66% accuracy mark; this was on a line with information respondents received from friends. Newspapers were ranked second, scoring 63%, while radio got a 59% score.

By contrast, Web sites and blogs took the lowest accuracy ratings with 36% and 24% marks respectively.
