Michael Ferro wants another chance.
A technology entrepreneur with a string of big-payout successes, he was unable to buck the trends drowning the newspaper industry as he tried to turn the Chicago Sun-Times from a struggling No. 2 paper into a national media powerhouse.
Now, as the new chairman and largest shareholder of Chicago-based Tribune Publishing, Ferro has set out to rewrite his own legacy as a 21st-century media baron and, in the process, save the journalism industry.
