By: E&P Staff The Sun Herald in Gulfport, Miss., has partnered with Southern Lithoplate's Strategic Alliance to move from analog platemaking to digital platesetting. The 40,700-circulation McClatchy daily is running Viper 830 plates from Southern Lithoplate in Wake Forest, N.C., through a Screen 2000S thermal platesetter.
Conversion to Viper 830 lithoplates, ProImage Newsway workflow and the Screen 2000 "all at the same time ... was one of the smoothest transitions we have ever seen," Sun Herald Operations and Circulation Vice President Gary Raskett said in a statement.
