Sun Media Buys 15 basysPrint UV-Setters

By: E&P Staff Quebecor-owned Sun Media Corp., Canada's second-largest newspaper group, with eight metro dailies, eight community dailies and 175 weeklies and specialty publications, ordered 15 UV-Setters from basysPrint GmbH, Boizenburg, Germany, to be installed at various sites across Canada during the first half of 2004.

The ultraviolet CTP solution was chosen for the availability of plate materials and easy integration into the existing infrastructure. "We can continue to use our conventional plate supply that is well priced and readily available," said Nolin Richard, vice president, corporate production, distribution and procurement.

Dave Taylor, president of BasysPrint Canada credited a sales, installations and service partnership with L&R Graphic Supply for completion of the agreement with Sun Media.
