'Sun' of Baltimore Hiking Price to 75 Cents

Posted
By: Starting Monday, it'll cost a quarter more to buy a copy of The (Baltimore) Sun.

The newspaper announced today that it was raising the newsstand price from 50 cents to 75 cents. It's the first price increase for The Sun in 12 years.

Tim Thomas, the newspaper's vice president for marketing, says there will be no change in the price of the Sunday edition, which costs $1.66. Home delivery prices are also holding steady.

Thomas says the price hike is necessary to offset increases in delivery and printing costs, including higher prices for gas and newsprint
