'Sun' Readers Criticize Loss of Friedman

Posted
By: E&P Staff Hundred of readers complained to The (Baltimore) Sun about Thomas Friedman's New York Times column no longer running in the paper, according to a piece yesterday by Public Editor Paul Moore.

The Sun lost Friedman when it switched to a less expensive New York Times News Service package, which does not include Friedman's column, and it's not allowed to purchase him separately.

Despite the reader reaction, the Sun decided not to go back to the more expensive package. It did add a column by Trudy Rubin, who, like Friedman, often comments on Mideast events.
